"...Creating global change is not something in the abstract. It's not something that should just be talked about and shown on T.V. by somebody else; it's something that you want to be deeply involved in."
Nominate a Fellow
Next America Fellows are emerging young leaders drawn from the public and private sectors, nongovernmental and multilateral organizations, academia, the military, and the media. Each fellow provides a unique perspective shaped by his or her individual experiences. Fellows participate in Next America in their individual capacity, not on behalf of their affiliated organizations or CSIS. Collectively, Fellows represent a window into the thinking of America’s next generation of foreign policy leadership.
Next America welcomes fellow nominations. To nominate a fellow, please send an email to nextamerica@csis.org, including a brief explanation of why he or she should be considered along with the nominee's résumé and one writing sample by the proposed nominee. Fellows are selected by committee and will serve an initial term through January 2009. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Fellows must be 18-30 years of age and should have a strong interest in international affairs. Next America actively seeks a balance of different perspectives and backgrounds. U.S. citizenship is not a requirement for consideration. Candidates should have an expertise in at least one of five strategic issue areas: Smart Power, Economic Integration, Defense & Security, Energy & Climate, and Human Rights & Development.
